,,I feel like I've been able to explore that side of my self'' - interview with Sondre Ringen!

Hi! It's time to go back to one of your most favorite series, the interviews! Today you can read the responses of Sondre who answered my questions. You can read the interview in Polish HERE.

Sondre Ringen (born October 9, 1996) - Norwegian ski jumper, representative of the Bækkelagets SK club. His debut in the World Cup took place on March 13, 2018 in Lillehammer, then he was 22nd. He set his personal record at the Vikersundbakken in Vikersund at 226.5 m.
Natalie: At the beginning tell me how did your ski jumping adventure start and why ski jumping?
Sondre Ringen: It all started while cross country skiing with my family. For me to go skiing my demand was that we'd bring a shovel to make a ski jump in the first and best downhill. Then I watched skijumping at TV and realized it was possible to jump much farther than my 3-5 meters. From that point I was hooked.

Natalie: Is there any ski jumper you modeled on at the beginning of your career?
Sondre: Anders Jacobsen was my biggest idol growing up as well as Simon Amman. And when I got a bit older, Peter Prevec was the man!

Natalie: Have you ever wondered who you would be if you weren't a ski jumper?
Sondre: Yes of course! I feel like I've been able to explore that side of my self as well as I have a degree in computer science. I'd probably be studying my masters degree by now or working full time as a software engineer.

Natalie: Which ski jumpers do you have the best contact with?
Sondre: I obviously have a good relationship with all the Norwegian jumpers, but my closest foreign competitors must be the German, Austrian guys, and the Slovenians. Competitors and good friends I'd say
Natalie: For some jumpers the biggest dream is to win a crystal ball, for others an Olympic gold medal, and for others to win the 4-Hills-Tournament. What does it look like in your case, what is your biggest dream about ski jumping?
Sondre: Crystal ball for sure! You mention other great achievements, but winning the world cup overall is a thoroughly solid performance.

Natalie: I think Poland is a happy place for you, because in FIS CUP your debut was in Szczyrk, you also got the first points there. However, in Zakopane in 2017 you made your debut in the Continental Cup. What do you think? Do you like coming to Poland to competitions?
Sondre: Poland is always exciting! The best place in the world for camps and competitions. All credited to the fans! They're awesome!🇵🇱

Natalie: Coronavirus thwarted plans for more than one of us, including the failure to finish the 2019/20 season. Tell me how you spent your quarantine.
Sondre: To be fair my quarantine time has been good! I was able to work 100% as a software engineer from home and training in the evenings. Also spending a lot of time with my girlfriend was lovley. We rarely get to spend this much time together. The time flew by and I thoroughly enjoyed my self.

Natalie: After such a long break finally came the time to return to training on the ski jump. Are the preparations for the summer grand prix as well as for the new winter season going as planned?
Sondre: My jumping was surprisingly good this summer and I'm ahead of schedule in terms of technique.

Natalie: Do you have any plans, goals that you want to achieve in the new season?
Sondre: I'm aiming to secure a quota from COC and many World Cyp competitions.

Natalie: At the end what can I wish you for next season?
Sondre: Have your fingers crossed for many World Cup competitions!

And that's it for today, I hope you enjoyed the interview! Be sure to let me know what you think about the interview in the comment :)
